Overnight camping can be so much fun for kids unless they are scared of the dark. The thought of the unknown or what may be lurking out there behind the bushes is enough to keep a child from joining any outdoor activity. Blame it on too much television. Instead of joining the camping activity, a child ends up staying home and feeling left out.
Before any big camping trip, parents can slowly expose their kids to the outdoors so as not to overwhelm the kid. They could have their own mini overnight camping in their backyard just so the kid will learn what transpires during camp. To keep the child comfortable even at nighttime, outdoor lanterns can be used. The lanterns can help a child feel safe and secure even in different surroundings.
