Mattress pads

There is one essential element of the bed that is often overlooked. Mattress pads serve many purposes:
~They protect the mattress
~They keep the sheets on the bed
~They provide additional comfort and softness
A fitted mattress pad covers both the top and sides of the mattress. It looks like a fitted sheet with elastic on all corners but is quilted on the top. Mattress pads are machine washable. They can be washed less often than the bed sheets but more frequently than the comforter.
