In a wedding reality show that I watched over the weekend, the show featured a couple who had planned to have their wedding at a New England house owned by the bride’s uncle. The ceremony was to be held at the garden, and I could see the reason why: the garden was huge and had the green, lush landscape that was so characteristic of New England. It was definitely going to be an outdoor, nature-themed wedding, since it was going to be scheduled during the summer anyway.
But their wedding planner was a practical woman and was thinking of setting up portable tents at both the ceremony site and the reception area. It was one of her “just-in-case” measures which the bride didn’t really want to accept. When the planner wasn’t able to convince the bride, she turned to the uncle, who had agreed with her that the tents would definitely be needed. So the tent was set up just a day before the wedding.
