Ultralight sleeping bag

March 5th, 2009

I love camping out. There’s a vast forest just behind our farm and once in a while, I’d go and camp out. There’s something so special with communing with nature. It gives you a sense of unity with the universe and everything in it. It also allows you to leave your worries behind and just relax.

Whenever I do camp out, I make sure I have everything that I need to keep me safe and secure. I bring my backpack and inside it is my Ultralight sleeping bag, my first aid kits, my camp supplies, phones, compass and even a GPS tracker. I also stick to the foot path and never take unnecessary risks. Camping can be fun but can turn dangerous on a dime. So make sure that you’re prepared for these kinds of eventualities.

Camping flashlights

March 5th, 2009

Don’t be caught outdoors without a reliable source of light when you go camping. Camping flashlights are some of the most important gear you should not forget to pack. A handheld flashlight with LED bulbs is the best light source in a camping trip. These bulbs are long lasting and very energy-efficient. A single LED bulb can last for 12000 hours of continuous light.

Another effective light source is a head lamp. It would be useful in many cases when you’ll need both hands free. It is the best hiking companion because you can just strap it on your forehead and it will allow you to see your path as well as have the use of both hands.

portable sinks

March 4th, 2009

Our family is a weird bunch of campers. We all profess to love “roughing it” in the great outdoors but if you see our camp site, we have all the basic amenities of home. We bring along camp stoves, inflatable beds and even portable sinks. My father spends a whole lot of time making sure our campsite is as “homey” as possible. Like I said, we’re a bunch of weird campers.

The good thing about these portable sinks though is they really make outdoor life really easy. Also, by using a portable sink, the inevitability of polluting lakes and streams is greatly diminished. In fact, even though it makes us look weird, I’m really glad we use portable sinks when we camp. We get to enjoy the outdoors, have the comforts of home and help protect the environment by not leaving camp debris behind.

Coleman camp stoves

March 4th, 2009

My husband and I run a campsite and often recommend tried and tested camping equipment. In all our years of running the campsite, the best outdoor cooking gear for us is Coleman camp stoves. They are very easy to set up and store away. Most models don’t need matches. Just one twist and you can start cooking right away.

There are probably other camp stoves out there but Coleman really makes the best ones. They’re very convenient to carry around. Every model has its own unique feature. One thing that they all share is they’re all very dependable. In fact, almost all the families that camp in our campsite use a Coleman camp stove for their outdoor cooking needs.
