There are stoves that run on butane. These are also called canister stoves. A canister stove is useful in backpacking and camping. It is supposed to be all weather equipment but it will usually see a decline in performance in cold weather. During burning the fuel inside the canister evaporates, causing the canister to cool. Moisture in the air will condense or freeze on the outside of the canister further chilling the gas inside the canister.
It will need a bit of experience to be able to increase the efficiency of a canister. The easiest way to do this is to start off with a warm canister.
