Portable Shelter

If you like spending time outdoors camping out with your family, there is one tent that I would definitely recommend. This home away from home is a chinook tent. One of the most popular models of this tent is the Chinook Whirlwind. This is a 5-person fiberglass tent which features a very roomy interior. It also features the unique Chinook VestaRidge which creates an extra long freestanding area to store all your outdoor gear.

Every chinook tent is designed for a specific outdoor activity. You need to choose the right kind of tent for your activity to be able to enjoy that activity more. It’s better to be protected from the environment and safe from the harsher elements of nature. A tent that is ideal for use in a forest may not be ideal to use in the mountains. Make sure you have the right chinook tent based on the climate and the terrain of the place you are going to.

Comfortable Shelters

Our family loves to go on picnics. We try to have picnics as often as our schedules allow us. One of the biggest help during these family gatherings are the canopy tents that we bring along with us. These provide us with shelter from the sun and even from the rain. I can only imagine what we would do without these canopy tents during our picnics.

Canopy tents are tents that usually do not have walls. In effect, these are more like portable roofs which you can bring along anywhere. You can bring this to the picnic ground, the campsite and even to the beach. There are a lot of sizes and designs available for you to choose from. These would definitely make all your gatherings more memorable.

Playtime for Kids

I remember back to the days of my early youth when I would play in our fenced-in backyard with my younger sister, Katie. We loved to play hide-and-go-seek and one of our favorite places to hide was inside this play tent we had set up like a fortress. We played in that tent until we could no longer fit inside it.

I know for sure that when I have children of my own, I’ll buy them one of those kids tents to play inside. It’s great for indoor or outdoor use. Make it a castle, a dungeon, a teepee, a spaceship or a home where you play house. A child’s imagination is endless and so are the possibilities with a tent for kids.

What to Look for in Headlamps

Some flashlights are provided with straps so that they can be worn on the head. They are then called headlamps. They are useful in the home, while camping, or cooking barbecue outdoors. Just about anybody can find use for a headlamp. Daddies use them when doing repairs around the house; mommies use them when cleaning out dark closets. Even children can use them when they go out biking in the dark.

Here are a few tips recommended by experts when looking for headlamps to buy. Put it on and feel if you are comfortable in it. Check the light; it should have adjustable light levels. Check the batteries. Determine if they have rechargeable batteries. Better yet, opt for solar powered headlamps. They will come in handy when you go camping in a location where there are scarce electrical outlets.

Getting some ZZZZZZs

The great outdoors can be an uncomfortable place, well it should be. No one goes out hiking to feel cosy. Hiking is about strengthening one’s self and even self discovery. Discomfort is all good when you are awake, sleeping however is a completely different story. Cold weather can get in the way of that well deserved rest. Cold weather sleeping bags are a great counter measure to harsh weather, one needs to stay warm if he wants to return home in prime condition.

These sleeping bags can keep you well insulated from 40 degrees to 20 degrees Fahrenheit. The cotton and cosy cotton flannel lining tells you “I deserve this after a long hike”. Technology makes these bags very functional. These bags keep the heat in and Pneumonia out. These bags are easy to wrap up and store, bringing these bags along is no hassle and on the contrary quite the opposite.

Having the proper shelter when going on a camping trip is definitely on the top of our list when thinking about what we need to bring. One very good option would be Eureka tents. There are a lot of choices available from solo mountaineering tents to tents for more than seven persons. You will definitely be able to select the tent that’s right for your needs. It also comes in different colors and shapes.

But the major consideration should be purpose. Why bring a tent for two when you will be the only one to use it. You should also consider portability and weight because on camping trips we carry everything we need in our backpacks. Another major consideration is durability. Your tent should be able to withstand the weather conditions of the place where you would be going. Everything else is secondary to this. So choose the right tent for you to experience an unforgettable camping trip.

Sleeping Right

Our family loves to go camping. We enjoy roughing it up in the great outdoors whenever we can. But this doesn’t mean we can’t be comfortable doing it. That is why we made sure we invested in the right camping cots. Compared to a sleeping bag, I prefer camping cots since this is elevated from the ground.

A camping cot is also quite handy since it is foldable. It is lightweight and very sturdy even the military uses it in their barracks. Compared to sleeping on the ground when using a sleeping bag, it is definitely more comfortable using a camping cot as it adjusts to the contours of your body. There are a lot of varieties to choose from so be sure to choose wisely. It is a worthwhile investment which will make your camping trips more comfortable as well as enjoyable.
