Camping is one of the favorite leisurely past times of many people. It allows them to be one with nature and appreciate the great outdoors. Camping trips not only help one discover about the natural beauty that Mother Nature has, but also discover things about himself like endurance and adaptability. Given that being outdoors strips an individual from the comforts of the things he as at home, not everyone is able to fully adapt to a life without electronic gadgets, a well-functioning bathroom, and electricity all day.

Surviving camping trips would be easier should you have the right equipment with you. A sturdy tent with tent accessories would ensure a bit more comfortable sleep outside. Comfortable clothes and lightweight shoes allow you to protect yourself from nature’s elements. Food, water and tools to help you work around the premises is also important for a much more pleasurable trip. Camping can be fun, should you only learn to appreciate the simple things it can offer.

Camp Nights

Camping out in the wild can be pretty much exciting. But long nights out in the woods, without television or any form of entertainment can be pretty darn boring. Story telling of sorts are for kids, and often times I would rather stay at home than endure those cold and pestering hours of doing nothing.

So trips like these we vowed to come up with ways to amuse ourselves. I’d bring along my bicycle playing cards on these trips to provide some form of amusement to kill those long hours. Games usually involved wacky consequences for the loser. These days, camp nights are no longer as excruciating as they used to be.

A Tent that’s Worth Every Cent!

My family love to go camping and whenever we have the time to go on a trip, we pack everything we need and drive anywhere where we can relax and enjoy the outdoors. Through the years, we have tried and tested numerous tents and I can say that we never really found that one tent we actually loved. We kept on selling or giving away our old ones in order to look for a better tent.

Recently, I discovered Alps mountaineering tent. I just told myself, “Well, might as well try this one out.’ I used it on our latest camping trip and I’m very happy that I bought it! It’s very easy to set-up and when it rained at night I still slept like I was in the comfort of my own room (only, of course, with fresher air). My parents and siblings were all tired when they woke up and they were shocked to see me cooking breakfast already. I told them that I have finally found the tent that’s worth every cent and it’s something definitely for keeps!

Camping Responsibilities

My sons Jack and Jamie, and my daughter Sam, are aged 10, 8 and 3. Jack and Jamie have been very helpful with our camping gear when we camped for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Both my sons even carried by themselves a one person tent. My wife Sharon and I carried a family tent. Each had contributed help in getting our camping trip ready.

I believe this type of responsibility, which is fun and engaging, is very good for the children. They remember that helping out means organizing something becomes easier for everybody involved. There is no fighting nor shouting. It is just something that makes a group bond well and have a good time.

Most truck tents are designed for specific truck models. When shopping for a truck bed tent your first priority will be to look for one that will fit your truck or SUV. You will not be disappointed. There will be enough designs to choose from. You can also go through designs that are made to fit different truck makes and models.

There are also other features that you will want to consider. Take for instance the durability of the materials used. It should be able to protect against wind and rain to be able to provide comfort in all kinds of weather. Capacity is just as important. You don’t want to just get people in. They need to be comfortable as well.

Camping 101

We went camping as a family for the first time. My small family consisted of me, my wife Janet and our son Todd. It was very exciting! We are not an outdoorsy kind of family so it we were feeling more anxious, I guess, than those who are more used to the outdoors. From the preparation to the time we had to go home, we were all gung-ho about our trip.

We bought a new Eureka screen tent for the trip. We also bought some camping utensils and other necessities. We packed it all in our wagon and headed to a camp site near our town. Camping is such a wonderful activity for a family to do. The time we spent just setting up the tent, cooking our food, sleeping in a small space – what a great experience for us. We should do this more often.
